Job Description
KFC is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain specializing in delicious fried chicken and other complementary menu items. As part of the Yum! Brands family, KFC has established itself as a leader in the quick-service restaurant industry by offering high-quality food, consisting customer service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Operating thousands of locations worldwide, KFC continues to expand its reach by delivering consistent and memorable dining experiences that emphasize innovation, brand excellence, and community engagement. The company places a strong emphasis on values such as equity, inclusion, and belonging, fostering a work environment where team members feel empowered and motivated to achieve success.
The Assistant Manager role at KFC plays a crucial part in the restaurant's success by providing dedicated support to the Restaurant General Manager (RGM). This leadership position involves upholding brand standards while inspiring and developing the team. The Assistant Manager is responsible for leading by example, training, coaching, and recognizing employees to ensure exceptional customer experiences. A key part of the job is managing daily restaurant operations during the RGM's absence and making important decisions that enhance team performance and restaurant profitability. This role offers a dynamic work environment where challenges are embraced, and personal growth is encouraged.
Assistant Managers at KFC typically work a 50-hour week, where 40 hours are paid at regular rates and 10 hours qualify for time and a half, reflecting a fair work-life balance with competitive compensation. The position involves overseeing key areas such as food safety, customer service standards, employee relations, recruitment, training, and financial management. Assistant Managers are expected to actively contribute to profit and loss management by following cash control and security procedures, maintaining inventory levels, managing labor costs, and reviewing financial reports to optimize restaurant performance.
In addition to operational duties, the role fosters a supportive work culture focused on collaboration, motivation, and recognition of both individual and team achievements. The Assistant Manager works closely with the RGM to maintain a safe and healthy environment, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, Occupational Health standards, and food safety regulations. This position is ideal for individuals with prior restaurant or retail management experience who are passionate about leadership and development within a fast-paced, customer-centric setting.
Joining KFC means becoming part of an organization that values hard work and offers numerous benefits including competitive pay, bonus eligibility, paid time off, medical benefits from day one, and career advancement opportunities. The company offers paid vacations, free meals during shifts, 401k retirement plans with employer matching, tuition reimbursement, and scholarship programs through the KFC Foundation. Employees also gain access to health and wellness programs and exclusive discounts on mortgages, vehicles, cell phones, gym memberships, and more. Through these comprehensive offerings, KFC demonstrates its commitment to supporting employee well-being and professional growth while reinforcing its culture of fun, challenge, and achievement.
