Job Description
The Assistant Restaurant General Manager (ARGM) plays a critical leadership role in the daily operations of the restaurant, stepping in to manage operations in the absence of the Restaurant General Manager (RGM). This position is central to maintaining the high standards of quality and service for which the restaurant is known, ensuring every guest receives an exceptional dining experience. The ARGM works closely with the RGM to implement company policies and procedures, drive profitability, and foster a positive work environment. This role involves a hands-on approach to managing the restaurant floor, overseeing staff, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. It requires a strong leader who can motivate and develop team members, manage scheduling, and handle customer inquiries with professionalism and care.
The ARGM is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests, quickly addressing and resolving any concerns to maintain high satisfaction levels. They take the lead in recruitment, hiring, training, and developing restaurant staff, promoting teamwork and growth opportunities. Ensuring the restaurant operates smoothly, the ARGM monitors inventory and the proper handling and presentation of menu items in line with food safety standards. The position also includes routine administrative duties to support operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and clean environment for both employees and customers while supporting the overall goals of the restaurant.
This role requires flexibility, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and at least 40 hours per week. The ARGM must possess effective communication skills, mechanical aptitude for overseeing equipment maintenance, and the ability to interpret operational manuals and safety instructions. A valid driver's license is essential, as the role may require travel or errands related to restaurant management. Physical demands include standing, walking, handling equipment, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, within an environment with moderate noise levels and exposure to cooking fumes.
Overall, the Assistant Restaurant General Manager is a vital member of the management team who ensures the restaurant delivers exceptional service and maintains operational standards at all times. This position offers an excellent opportunity for those passionate about hospitality, leadership, and delivering memorable guest experiences in a dynamic restaurant setting.
