Job Description
Panda Express is a renowned leader in the fast casual dining industry, specializing in American Chinese cuisine. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, boasting close to 2,800 locations globally. Its mission is to deliver exceptional Asian dining experiences while building a community where people are inspired to improve their lives. With a strong emphasis on family values and community impact, Panda Express is committed to fostering a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and professional growth.
Panda Express is currently seeking experienced leaders to join its store management team as Assistant Managers. This role is critical to the operational success of each store and involves assisting in managing daily store functions such as hiring, training, supervising, and directing associates to meet financial goals and deliver outstanding guest experiences. The company is dedicated to the professional and personal development of its associates, offering paid Store Management Leadership Training, mentorship, and continuous support from a caring community. Assistant Managers at Panda Express are given a comprehensive store leadership training program lasting three or more weeks, ensuring they are well prepared to lead their stores effectively.
The position offers a generous compensation package including bonus opportunities, free meals while working, and extensive medical, vision, and dental benefits for full-time associates. Additional benefits include voluntary short-term disability, cancer income protection insurance, a 401K with company match, paid time off, paid holidays, bereavement leave, and a Leave Share Program. Employees also enjoy discounts at theme parks and gym memberships, opportunities for community involvement, ongoing career and leadership development, continuous education assistance and scholarships, and a lucrative associate referral bonus. Income protection benefits including disability, life, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance are also provided.
Panda Express’s commitment to workplace inclusivity means they are an equal opportunity employer that does not discriminate on any legally protected basis. They also comply with all laws regarding workplace accommodations and provide reasonable accommodations during the application and hiring process, ensuring a fair and supportive environment for all applicants and associates.
Working as an Assistant Manager requires flexibility, as candidates must be willing to work in any store within a 50-mile radius and have the ability to work flexible schedules including weekends. Candidates must have a high school diploma and be Serve Safe certified for food safety. This fast-paced, dynamic role demands individuals who can thrive in a demanding environment while maintaining accuracy and excellent customer service standards. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Joining Panda Express as an Assistant Manager means becoming part of a company that not only values hard work and dedication but also fosters a supportive and growth-oriented workplace. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to advance their careers in restaurant management, supported by comprehensive training, competitive benefits, and the chance to work with a highly respected and expanding brand.
