Job Description

KFC is one of the world’s most recognized fast-food restaurant chains, known for its delicious fried chicken and distinctive brand. With a longstanding commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and community involvement, KFC continues to lead in the quick-service restaurant industry. The company prides itself on fostering a diverse and inclusive culture, emphasizing equity, teamwork, and career growth for its employees. KFC operates globally with thousands of locations, each striving to provide a welcoming environment and exceptional dining experiences for customers.

As an Assistant Manager at KFC, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the restaurant's standards and supporting the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) to ensure smooth operations and outstanding service. Positioned at the heart of the restaurant's success, the Assistant Manager is responsible for inspiring and leading the team by example, coaching, training, and recognizing employees' efforts to create memorable customer experiences. This leadership role involves taking charge during the RGM's absence, managing daily restaurant operations, and driving team performance towards excellence.

This is a dynamic position requiring a strong leader who enjoys facing personal challenges and seizing growth opportunities. The work schedule includes 50 hours per week, with 40 hours compensated at regular pay and 10 hours at time and a half, providing both a challenging and rewarding employment experience. The role places significant emphasis on customer satisfaction, employee development, operational efficiency, and adherence to food safety and health standards.

The Assistant Manager will oversee team members’ compliance with their responsibilities during shifts while ensuring strict food safety protocols are followed. Collaboration with the RGM includes assessing team performance and delivering constructive feedback, managing employee relations issues promptly, and escalating concerns when necessary. The role also involves participating in the recruitment process to attract and hire outstanding team members who fit within KFC’s culture of inclusion and belonging.

Financial stewardship is an important aspect of this position. The Assistant Manager will assist in managing profit and loss, controlling cash and inventory, securing the restaurant, and optimizing labor costs. Monitoring financial reports and implementing strategies to improve business performance are key responsibilities. Additionally, supporting facility maintenance and consistently meeting health and safety standards help maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

KFC offers a competitive pay structure, bonus eligibility, and comprehensive benefits. Employees enjoy two weeks of vacation along with additional paid time off, free meals during shifts, and medical benefits from day one. Opportunities for career advancement and professional development, including scholarship programs and the KFC Foundation Programs, support ongoing growth. Notably, the Foundation provides benefits like free college tuition at Western Governors University, a savings match program, and hardship assistance, underscoring KFC’s commitment to its team members’ futures.

Joining KFC as an Assistant Manager means being part of a team that values hard work, collaboration, and personal success. This role is perfect for motivated leaders eager to foster a positive work culture, support their team, and contribute to the strong legacy of one of the world's leading fast-food brands.
