Job Description
Big Whiskey's American Restaurant & Bar, founded in 2006, is a locally owned and operated establishment that began with the vision of recreating the 'hometown tavern' experience in the heart of the Midwest. Over the years, it has grown into a beloved household name, known for its warm and inviting atmosphere, delicious food, and expertly crafted cocktails. The restaurant prides itself on its commitment to friendly and attentive service, maintaining consistently high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. As Big Whiskey's continues to expand with new locations, it remains deeply rooted in the communities it serves, integrating community giveback initiatives and fostering a supportive, growth-oriented workplace for its employees.
This growth trajectory has created exciting career opportunities, and the company is now seeking a Responsive Recruiter/Manager who is ready to take on new responsibilities and help drive the restaurant's success. The role offers a competitive total cash compensation package, with base pay ranging from $45,000 to $50,000 annually, plus earned bonus potential. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for hospitality and a desire to advance their management career in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
As a Responsive Recruiter/Manager at Big Whiskey's, you will oversee and coordinate critical functions such as planning, organization, training, and leadership to ensure the restaurant meets its goals in sales, cost control, employee retention, guest satisfaction, food quality, and facility cleanliness. Your role involves not only managing current operations but also fostering a positive, productive workplace culture where team members are motivated and supported to perform their best. You will be expected to maintain in-depth knowledge of company policies, procedures, standards, and training programs, ensuring all employees adhere to the standards that distinguish Big Whiskey's.
Key responsibilities include engaging guests through personal interactions to ensure they receive friendly and courteous service, overseeing food preparation and service to meet established recipes and quality standards, managing cash handling and financial reconciliations, and making hiring and termination decisions in consultation with the General Manager. You will also play a vital role in staff development, continually striving to enhance the skills and professional growth of your team. Scheduling, equipment maintenance, inventory control, compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations, and timely completion of all administrative paperwork are essential duties under your leadership.
Big Whiskey's emphasizes employee growth and development, with opportunities to expand your career as the company opens new locations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, eager to learn, and capable of handling the physical demands of the role, which include standing for extended periods and occasional heavy lifting. If you are ready to join a fast-growing company that values its employees and offers a path for professional advancement, Big Whiskey's American Restaurant & Bar is the perfect place to make history and grow your career.
