Job Description

Panda Express, established in 1983 in Glendale, California, stands as the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With nearly 2,800 locations globally, Panda Express has built its reputation on delivering authentic and exceptional Asian dining experiences. This well-recognized brand fosters a corporate culture that values family, community, and the personal and professional growth of its team members. As a company deeply committed to inclusion, diversity, and equality, Panda Express offers a supportive work environment for all employees and is an equal opportunity employer. The company’s mission centers on inspiring employees to better their lives while positively impacting the communities they serve.

Panda Express is currently seeking experienced leaders to join their store management team as Assistant Managers. This is a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about leadership and hospitality to advance their careers with an industry leader that emphasizes paid leadership training, mentorship, and ongoing support from a caring community of associates. This role involves managing the operations of a single store and leading a team to achieve financial goals and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

As an Assistant Manager at Panda Express, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of store operations. Key responsibilities include hiring, managing, and directing associates to meet and exceed store performance targets. You will play a critical role in ensuring that the store upholds the high standards of food quality and customer service that Panda Express is known for. To prepare you for this role, Panda Express provides a comprehensive store leadership training program lasting three or more weeks, designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary for success.

Working at Panda Express comes with numerous benefits and rewards. Full-time associates receive medical, vision, dental, and various insurance coverages which include voluntary short-term disability and cancer income protection. Additionally, Panda offers a pre-tax dependent care flexible spending account, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off including holidays and bereavement leave, and access to various discounts such as those on theme parks and gym memberships. The company also emphasizes ongoing career and leadership development, including continuous education assistance and scholarships, reflecting its commitment to employee growth.

Flexibility is essential for this role, as the Assistant Manager must be able to work within a store located within a 50-mile radius and maintain flexible working hours, including weekends. The position requires candidates to be Serve Safe certified, which signifies adherence to food safety protocols. Moreover, the physical demands and working conditions involve standing for long periods, working in hot and fast-paced environments, handling sharp kitchen tools, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Joining Panda Express means becoming part of a dynamic team focused on excellence, community, and career advancement. The company takes pride in its family-oriented values and its commitment to equal employment opportunities, accommodating diverse backgrounds and abilities. If you are driven by leadership, enjoy teamwork, and want to grow your career in the thriving food service industry, Panda Express offers a rewarding path to develop and thrive.
