Job Description

Panda Express is a renowned and leading American fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in Asian cuisine, particularly American Chinese dishes. Founded in Glendale, California, in 1983, the company has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. Panda Express is recognized for its commitment to exceptional food quality, outstanding guest experiences, and a family-oriented work culture. The company prides itself on fostering a supportive environment where associates are encouraged to grow both professionally and personally. Panda Express offers comprehensive training, mentorship, and resources designed to empower its workforce and promote career development within the organization. The company values diversity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunities for all individuals.

The role of Assistant Manager at Panda Express is a pivotal position within the store management team. As an Assistant Manager, you will play an essential role in the successful operation of a single Panda Express store. Your responsibilities include hiring, managing, and directing associates to meet financial targets and deliver outstanding guest services. This position requires strong leadership skills, team management, and a passion for creating a positive and efficient work environment. To prepare you for success, Panda Express provides paid Store Management Leadership Training that typically spans three or more weeks, equipping you with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to thrive in your role. The Assistant Manager is responsible for achieving operational goals, maintaining high standards of food safety and service, and motivating the team to consistently exceed guest expectations.

This is a full-time role offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $26.50 to $29.50, with pay determined based on factors such as location and experience. Panda Express offers a generous compensation package inclusive of bonus opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits plan covering medical, vision, dental, short-term disability, and other protections for eligible full-time associates. Additional benefits include a 401K plan with company matching, paid time off, paid holidays, bereavement and funeral leave, as well as access to discounts on theme parks and gym memberships. The company also supports ongoing career and leadership development, continuous education assistance, scholarships, and offers a lucrative associate referral bonus.

Candidates joining Panda Express will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment that involves hands-on food preparation, use of kitchen equipment, and maintaining high standards of food safety and guest satisfaction. Working conditions may include exposure to heat, noise, and physical activity such as standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. Flexibility in work hours, including weekends and working within a 50-mile radius of the store location, is required. The company strongly emphasizes a culture of respect, safety, and teamwork, ensuring a workplace where associates can flourish and contribute meaningfully to the Panda family and its communities.

Panda Express is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and accommodating individuals with disabilities, aligning with ADA guidelines, and ensuring that all qualified applicants have reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process. Joining Panda Express means becoming part of an industry leader dedicated to excellence, innovation, and building a supportive community for its associates.
