The role of an Assistant Service Center Manager (ASCM) at Valvoline Instant Oil Change is integral to the success and smooth operation of its service centers. Acting as the right hand of the Service Center Manager, the ASCM plays a crucial leadership role by helping build and lead a high-performance team dedicated to delivering outstanding automotive services and exceptional guest experiences. This position includes hands-on activities such as performing oil changes and other car maintenance tasks, supervising and training hourly employees, and supporting daily operational needs. The ASCM contributes directly to the financial and operational performance of the center by assisting with inventory management, labor oversight, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. A vital aspect of the role is mentoring and developing team members to optimize their skills and encourage professional growth.

Job Requirements
- six months of supervisory experience required, preferably in a retail environment
- knowledge of cash handling, facility, and safety control policies and practices
- ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- be able to stand for extended periods of time and climb stairs
- comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment
- have full mobility and can twist, stoop, and bend
- high school diploma or equivalent
- English fluency in reading, writing, and speaking

Job Duties
- perform oil changes and additional car maintenance services
- assist the Service Center Manager in the daily operation and oversight of the service center
- deliver a positive first impression to each guest with a warm and friendly greeting
- build trust and win repeat, loyal customers
- support the Service Center Manager with inventory, labor management, and financial performance of the service center
- mentor, lead, and train the team to optimize their development
- help maintain a clean, well-organized service center and facilitate a safe and secure working environment
- become familiar with Environmental, Health & Safety compliance and other policies and procedures
