Job Description
Valvoline Instant Oil Change (VIOC) is a leading automotive service company specializing in quick and reliable oil change services and other essential vehicle maintenance. Known for its commitment to quality, customer care, and convenience, Valvoline Instant Oil Change operates numerous service centers across the country, delivering efficient automotive solutions focused on customer satisfaction. Valvoline is a company that deeply values diversity and inclusion, fostering a welcoming workplace where people of color, women, LGBTQIA+, veterans, and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to join and thrive.
The role of Assistant Service Center Manager (ASCM) at Valvoline Instant Oil Change is a critical leadership position within the service center. As the right hand to the Service Center Manager, the ASCM plays a vital role in building and maintaining a high-performing team that delivers a superior and differentiated service experience. This position is not only about technical automotive work but extends into leadership, mentorship, and operational responsibilities. The assistant manager is heavily involved in advising, training, and supervising hourly employees, ensuring all team members adhere to company standards and uphold VIOC’s values.
This position offers competitive compensation, starting at $20.25 per hour, and comes with extensive benefits such as paid on-the-job training, flexible work schedules with no late evenings or holiday shifts, paid time off including holiday pay, tuition and certification assistance, access to an online university, and comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage, along with prescription drug benefits and a 401(k) plan with a generous company match. Additional perks include back-up child and elder care services, company-provided uniforms and tools, and a 50% discount on Valvoline's automotive services.
In the ASCM role, you will perform critical car maintenance services including oil changes and other routine care tasks. You will assist the Service Center Manager with daily operations that involve inventory management, labor oversight, and financial performance tracking to meet business goals. A large part of your daily duties will revolve around creating a positive customer experience through friendly and professional interaction. Building trust with customers and fostering loyalty is a top priority.
Your leadership extends to mentoring the team, promoting their growth and development while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Moreover, you will ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety policies, helping the team to operate within legal and corporate guidelines. This role demands physical readiness as you will sometimes need to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, be comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment, and have full mobility to perform physical tasks.
Valvoline Instant Oil Change is renowned for providing a clear path for career advancement. With an award-winning training program and a culture centered on safety, fairness, and honesty, employees are empowered to reach their professional milestones and develop meaningful careers within the company. The organization’s strong commitment to equal employment opportunity means that all qualified applicants will receive equal consideration regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status. Inclusive recruitment practices ensure accessibility and accommodations are available as needed during the hiring process.
Joining Valvoline Instant Oil Change as an Assistant Service Center Manager means embarking on a rewarding journey in a company dedicated to excellence in automotive service and workforce diversity. This role is perfectly suited for individuals who are passionate about leadership, customer service, and automotive care, offering an exceptional opportunity to grow within a supportive and dynamic environment.
