The role of Assistant Service Center Manager (ASCM) at Valvoline Instant Oil Change is pivotal in supporting the Service Center Manager to lead and develop a high-performing team capable of delivering a differentiated service experience. As the right hand to the Service Center Manager, the Assistant Manager assists with overseeing daily service center operations, including performing oil changes and additional car maintenance tasks. The ASCM is also responsible for training, advising, and supervising hourly employees to ensure they meet the company’s standards for service quality and guest care. This position offers competitive weekly pay starting at $20.25 per hour and includes paid on-the-job training with no previous automotive experience required. The Assistant Service Center Manager is tasked with building trust and loyalty among customers while supporting the Service Center Manager in managing inventory, labor, and financial performance. In addition, responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe working environment and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies. This role requires six months of supervisory experience, ideally in a retail setting, as well as knowledge of cash handling and safety practices. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a non-climate-controlled environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months of supervisory experience required, preferably in a retail environment
  • Knowledge of cash handling, facility, and safety control policies and practices
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to stand for extended periods of time and climb stairs
  • Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment
  • Have full mobility and can twist, stoop, and bend
  • English fluency in reading, writing, and speaking

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Perform oil changes and additional car maintenance services
  • Assist the Service Center Manager in the daily operation and oversight of the service center
  • Deliver a positive first impression to each guest with a warm and friendly greeting
  • Build trust and win repeat, loyal customers
  • Support the Service Center Manager with inventory, labor management, and financial performance of the service center
  • Mentor, lead, and train the team to optimize their development
  • Help maintain a clean, well-organized service center and facilitate a safe and secure working environment
  • Become familiar with Environmental, Health & Safety compliance and other policies and procedures
