Job Description

Flynn Group entered the Panera Bread system in 2015 by acquiring 47 cafes, and since then, has rapidly grown to become the second largest Panera franchisee in the world. The company’s expansion strategy includes building new stores and acquiring other franchise operators, demonstrating its steadfast commitment to growth and excellence. Flynn Panera operates under a decentralized business model, where geographical areas are led by Market Leaders, supported by Area Directors who oversee the overall performance of multiple cafes. General Managers manage individual cafes, ensuring smooth daily operations, and are assisted by Assistant Managers and Team Managers who help maintain high standards and efficient cafe performance. This structure promotes strong leadership and accountability at every level, underpinning Flynn Panera's reputation for quality and service.

Flynn Panera is one of the seven premier brands of the broader Flynn Group, which was founded in 1999 by Greg Flynn and has grown into the largest franchise operator globally. Flynn Group boasts a diversified portfolio inclusive of iconic brands like Applebee's, Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. The company’s mission is to be the premier operator within each brand, guided by core values such as Genuine Care for People, Playing Like Champions, and Winning as One Team. This culture fosters a supportive and motivating work environment that encourages leadership growth and operational excellence.

The role of Restaurant Manager at Flynn Panera is critical within this expanding network of upscale Panera Bread cafes. Known for their artisan breads, quality soups, salads, and sandwiches, Flynn Panera cafes pride themselves on maintaining a grease and alcohol-free environment, which translates into no late-night shifts for managers but a preference for morning-oriented leadership. The manager will lead a team of up to 75 staff members, providing exceptional leadership and ensuring outstanding customer service. With responsibilities ranging from staff coaching and counseling to creating a profitable operational environment, the manager must exemplify passion for the restaurant industry and inspire their team to deliver an exceptional customer experience. This position is ideal for professionals committed to high standards in cleanliness, food quality, safety, and facility management, who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

As a Flynn Panera Restaurant Manager, you will spearhead the overall performance of the restaurant, including inventory ordering, staff scheduling, labor cost management, marketing initiatives, facilities upkeep, bakery operations, and catering services. You will analyze sales and profitability data, implement business plans, and act as the intermediary between associates and upper management, fostering a collaborative workplace culture. Developing and retaining staff members through coaching and mentoring, managing budgets, executing shift operations, and ensuring customer satisfaction through proactive engagement are core components of this role.

This position requires a leader with a steady, stable employment track record in the restaurant or hospitality sector, exceptional attention to detail, and outstanding interpersonal skills. You will also serve as a specialist in bakery cafe operations, ensuring comprehensive associate training and adherence to company guidelines and cultural values. Flynn Panera offers competitive wages, profit sharing, meal discounts, options for medical, dental, and vision insurance shortly after hire, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid vacation, and development opportunities. Physical demands include the ability to stand and move briskly for up to ten hours and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
