Job Description
Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn, began its journey in 1999 with the acquisition of 8 Applebee's restaurants. Over two decades, Flynn Group has grown through the development of new stores and the acquisition of other franchise operators, becoming the largest Applebee's franchisee in the world. With over 460 Applebee's locations spanning 24 states, Flynn Group has built a strong foundation enabling it to expand into numerous brands, countries, and industries. Flynn Group is a diversified operator managing a portfolio of iconic, world-class brands including Applebee's, Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. This makes Flynn Group the largest franchise operator globally, committed to excellence through its core values: Care Genuinely for People, Play like a Champion, and Win as One.
The role of an Applebee's Assistant Manager is a key leadership position engaged in all aspects of the restaurant's daily operations. This role is vital in creating an exceptional experience for both guests and staff. Assistant Managers are expected to lead by example, inspiring their team to excel in hospitality and service. The position requires a dynamic individual who is an excellent problem solver, capable of handling stress while maintaining a positive environment. Duties include managing timely and friendly service, cultivating a culture aligned with Flynn Applebee's core values, responding and resolving guest complaints, conducting table visits to enhance guest interaction, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring product quality through line checks. Additionally, the Assistant Manager effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands, enforces safety and security programs, promotes cleanliness and sanitation, and oversees maintenance and repair reporting.
Moreover, the Assistant Manager supports recruitment, training, and development of team members and management candidates. They play a significant role in employee performance evaluation, providing constructive feedback, and documenting disciplinary actions when necessary. The role demands compliance with company policies and legal regulations, cost control responsibilities, and accurate completion of daily paperwork. In compliance with health standards, managers must ensure sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's policies. They develop themselves through the Management Development Program and demonstrate flexibility by working in various restaurant positions when needed, including cooking, bartending, and guest seating.
This full-time position offers average annual earnings between $63,000 and $78,000. Applicants should have at least 2-3 years of restaurant management experience, with Serve Safe Food and Alcohol certifications considered a plus. Physical requirements include the ability to work various shifts, stand for up to 10 hours, safely lift up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks requiring finger and hand dexterity. Flynn Group values diversity and is an equal opportunity employer, committed to providing reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities. This role promises a challenging yet rewarding career path for motivated individuals aiming to grow their leadership skills within a premier, globally recognized franchise operator.
