Job Description

Panda Express is a renowned and established brand in the fast-food industry, distinguished as the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has expanded to nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, consistently delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences. At the core of Panda’s success is its commitment to fostering a family-oriented culture that focuses on the professional and personal growth of its employees. This dedication has cultivated a supportive environment where associates are encouraged to develop their skills and advance their careers within the Panda Restaurant Group. The company emphasizes inclusivity, equal opportunity, and workplace accommodations, respecting the diverse backgrounds and needs of its workforce.

The Assistant Manager position at Panda Express offers a unique opportunity to be part of this dynamic and thriving organization. This role involves supporting the operation of a single store by managing and directing team members to achieve financial goals and ensure customer satisfaction. The Assistant Manager plays a crucial leadership role in hiring, training, and motivating associates to deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced retail environment. Candidates receive comprehensive, paid leadership training spanning three or more weeks, designed to ready them for success in the role by equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary to manage daily store operations effectively.

Compensation for the Assistant Manager position ranges from $24 to $27 per hour, with individual pay determined by factors such as location and experience. Panda Express provides a generous benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, short-term disability, cancer income protection, a 401K plan with company matching, and paid time off. Employees also enjoy free meals while working, discounts on gym memberships and theme park tickets, and various community engagement opportunities. Continuous career development is a pillar of the Panda Express culture, with on-going training, educational assistance, scholarships, and chances for career growth into higher management positions.

Panda Express’s commitment to its associates extends beyond the workplace to include a supportive and energetic work environment. The role demands flexibility, effective communication, conflict management, and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, often high-temperature kitchen environment. With these responsibilities, the Assistant Manager position is integral to maintaining Panda’s high standards of service and operational excellence while advancing one’s leadership skills within a globally recognized restaurant brand.
