Job Description

Panda Express, a leading name in the American Chinese restaurant industry, has been a pioneer since its founding in 1983 in Glendale, California. As the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States with approximately 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda Express remains steadfast in its mission to deliver exceptional Asian dining experiences. The company emphasizes building an organization where people are inspired to improve their lives through strong family values, community involvement, and a culture of inclusivity and respect. Panda Express is well-known for commitment to its associates, offering not only competitive pay but also comprehensive benefits and ongoing professional development opportunities. The brand’s success stems from its dedication to both its guests and associates, creating a workplace where teamwork, mentorship, and continual learning are cornerstones of the experience.

The Assistant Manager position at Panda Express offers a dynamic and rewarding career path within this respected company. This role plays a critical part in supporting the daily operations of a single store location, working closely with the store management team to ensure financial targets are met and guests receive top-tier service. The assistant manager's responsibilities include hiring qualified team members, managing and directing associates, fostering a positive work environment, and taking initiative in delivering outstanding guest experiences. Candidates are provided with paid Store Management Leadership Training lasting three or more weeks, which equips them with the skills necessary to succeed and grow within the leadership ranks. The role also requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends, and may necessitate traveling within a 50-mile radius to a store location.

In addition to a competitive hourly wage ranging from $27 to $30, the position comes with various benefits such as free meals during shifts, medical, vision, dental, and disability insurance, a 401K plan with company match, paid time off, holidays, and many more perks that prioritize the well-being and growth of Panda Express associates. The company fosters a vibrant community environment where personal and professional development are equally supported, including ongoing leadership development, educational assistance, scholarship opportunities, and bonuses for strong performance and employee referrals. Panda Express is committed to equal opportunity employment, celebrating diversity across all dimensions and ensuring compliance with all legal requirements to provide reasonable workplace accommodations. The work environment is fast-paced and energetic, requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and poise, particularly in a kitchen setting that can be hot and noisy. Associates are expected to demonstrate strong communication skills and adaptability while embracing Panda's core values and mission.
