Job Description
Valvoline Instant Oil Change (VIOC) is a leading automotive service provider known for delivering fast, reliable, and high-quality oil change and vehicle maintenance services. With a legacy that spans over a hundred years, Valvoline has grown to become a trusted name in the automotive industry, committed to innovation, customer satisfaction, and sustainability. VIOC prides itself on creating a customer-centric experience, leveraging advanced technologies and highly trained teams to ensure every vehicle receives top-notch care quickly and efficiently. The company fosters an inclusive culture that values diversity in its workforce, encouraging applications from people of color, women, LGBTQIA+, veterans, and persons with disabilities, reflecting their belief that "It all starts with our people."
The role of Assistant Service Center Manager (ASCM) at Valvoline Instant Oil Change is integral to the success and operation of the service center. As the right hand to the Service Center Manager, the ASCM leads efforts in building and maintaining a high-performance team aimed at distinguishing VIOC’s service experience from competitors. This position requires a balance of hands-on automotive work, leadership, training, and operational oversight. The ASCM performs essential duties such as conducting oil changes and other vehicle maintenance, mentoring and supervising hourly employees, managing inventory and labor, and supporting the financial performance of the center.
The ASCM is tasked with creating an inviting atmosphere for customers, delivering a positive first impression through friendly greetings, and ultimately fostering customer loyalty. A significant part of the role involves compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards, ensuring the service center operates securely and efficiently. This role offers a competitive weekly pay starting at $21.25 per hour, paid on-the-job training with no prior automotive experience required, and a flexible work schedule that excludes late evenings and holidays to promote work-life balance.
Employees benefit from a comprehensive package including paid time off, holiday pay, tuition and certification assistance, access to a free online university, medical coverage with HSA contributions, dental and vision plans, a 401(k) savings plan with company matching, childcare and elder care backup, company-provided uniforms and tools, and a 50% discount on VIOC services. Valvoline is committed to promoting from within, emphasizing career growth and development.
In this role, the ASCM will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the service center while fostering a safe, clean, and well-organized work environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to advance their careers in the automotive service industry with a supportive employer renowned for its training and development programs, commitment to safety, and a culture that prioritizes honesty and fairness. Valvoline Instant Oil Change is an Equal Opportunity Employer, dedicated to making recruitment accessible and accommodating to all applicants.
