Job Description

Panda Express is a leading American Chinese restaurant chain, renowned for delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences across nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. The company maintains a strong commitment to family values and community involvement, fostering a workplace culture that inspires its associates to better their lives both professionally and personally. Panda Express prides itself on hiring dedicated team members who are passionate about food and customer service, and who thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. As a recognized industry leader, Panda Express continuously invests in its associates through comprehensive training, mentorship, and ongoing career development opportunities aimed at empowering employees to reach their full potential within the organization.

The Assistant Manager role at Panda Express is a pivotal leadership position responsible for supporting the operation of a single restaurant location. This role involves a broad range of responsibilities including hiring, managing, and directing team members to achieve financial goals and deliver outstanding guest experiences that reflect the brand’s high standards. Candidates accepted into this role receive at least three weeks of intensive store management leadership training to equip them with the skills necessary for success in running a thriving Panda Express store. Working as an Assistant Manager means the candidate will be hands-on in creating a welcoming environment for customers, ensuring food safety compliance such as Serve Safe certification, and maintaining store operations within a 50-mile radius, requiring a flexible and adaptive schedule inclusive of weekends.

Panda Express offers its Assistant Managers a generous compensation package that features paid meals, medical, vision, dental, and disability insurance options, retirement benefits like 401K with company match, paid time off, holidays, and bereavement leave arrangements. Furthermore, employees enjoy access to various discounts on theme parks, gym memberships, and community engagement opportunities. The company’s steadfast commitment to career progression is demonstrated through its continuous education assistance, scholarships, leadership development, and lucrative referral bonuses. Additionally, the work environment is fast-paced and requires individuals to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work with kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Panda Express is proud to be an equal opportunity employer welcoming applicants with diverse backgrounds and committed to providing workplace accommodations as outlined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This role represents a fantastic opportunity for those eager to advance in the food service industry within a reputable and caring organization that prioritizes growth, community, and excellence.
