Job Description

Panda Express is a leading American Chinese restaurant chain that has been serving exceptional Asian dining experiences since its founding in Glendale, California in 1983. As the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, Panda Express operates nearly 2,800 locations globally. The company's mission revolves around building an organization where team members are inspired to better their lives while delivering delicious food and outstanding customer service to their guests. Recognized for their strong family values, Panda Express fosters an inclusive and supportive work environment that champions professional growth and community involvement. They are committed to creating opportunities for leadership and advancement within their stores and corporate ranks.

At Panda Express, the Assistant Manager role offers a unique opportunity for experienced leaders who are eager to impact store operations and drive success through effective management of associates and guest experiences. This position is full-time and includes comprehensive paid Store Management Leadership Training as well as ongoing mentorship and support from the Panda community. Assistant Managers are responsible for assisting in the operation of a single store by hiring, managing, and directing associates to meet financial goals and ensure superior guest satisfaction. The role demands flexibility and adaptability, as candidates must be able to work in stores within a 50-mile radius and accommodate varying schedules including weekends. Successful candidates will benefit from hands-on paid training that prepares them for success in this leadership role and future growth opportunities within the company.

The role emphasizes a balance between operational excellence and people management. Assistant Managers drive the execution of Panda Express's standards in food safety, quality, and customer service while fostering a positive and motivating work environment. They play an essential role in building a high-performing team by recruiting and developing associates, ensuring compliance with safety protocols such as Serve Safe certification, and navigating the dynamic and fast-paced hospitality environment. Panda Express supports their Assistant Managers with a generous compensation package, inclusive benefits, and numerous professional development programs designed to cultivate leadership skills and provide pathways to higher management roles. Benefits for full-time associates include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) plans with company matches, paid time off, holiday pay, and a variety of discounts and community engagement opportunities.

Overall, this role is ideal for motivated individuals who thrive in a collaborative team environment, are passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences, and aspire to grow their careers in the restaurant management field. Panda Express prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion, ensuring that every employee is respected and empowered to reach their full potential.
