Job Description

Flynn Group is a renowned and rapidly expanding franchise operator in the restaurant industry, known for managing multiple premier brands including Panera Bread, Applebee's, Arby's, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. Founded in 1999 by Greg Flynn, the Flynn Group has grown to become the largest franchise operator globally. Among its portfolio, Flynn Panera represents the company's venture into the upscale bakery-cafe segment, operating as a franchisee of Panera Bread since 2015. Starting with the acquisition of 47 cafes, Flynn Panera has impressively tripled its footprint, making it the second largest Panera franchisee worldwide. The group continues to expand by building new stores and acquiring other franchise operators. Flynn Panera is structured with a decentralized business model, where each geographic area is managed by a Market Leader, followed by Area Directors overseeing multiple cafes, General Managers managing individual cafes, Assistant Managers responsible for departmental operations, and Team Managers who assist in daily leadership.

This opportunity focuses on the role of a Restaurant Manager within Flynn Panera’s Panera Bread cafes. These cafes are known for their upscale and friendly environments, offering artisan breads, freshly baked pastries, made-to-order soups, salads, sandwiches, and specialty espresso beverages. Notably, the cafes maintain a grease-free and alcohol-free atmosphere with no fryers and no late-night shifts, making it an ideal workplace for morning-oriented professionals. The Restaurant Manager position is crucial for delivering outstanding leadership and operational efficiency. Managers are responsible for overseeing up to 75 staff members, ensuring the highest levels of customer service, food quality, sanitation, and cafe management. They play a pivotal role in fostering a positive workplace culture that aligns with Flynn Group’s core values: Care Genuinely for People, Play like a Champion, and Win as One.

The managerial role demands a deep passion for the hospitality industry, strong interpersonal skills, and a focus on coaching and developing team members. Managers at Flynn Panera must excel in strategic business management including sales analysis, profitability planning, budgeting, labor management, marketing, and facilities oversight. Their daily activities involve coordinating all cafe operations, developing teams through training and mentorship, handling customer interactions to ensure satisfaction, and maintaining compliance with company standards and ethical practices. As vital communicators, managers act as the bridge between associates and higher management, fostering a cohesive and motivated team.

This position not only offers the chance to lead in a rapidly growing concept but also emphasizes a balanced work-life environment with competitive wages, profit sharing opportunities, meal discounts, comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid vacation, and significant development opportunities. The role is suited for those with at least 2 to 3 years of hospitality management experience, preferably backed by a degree or equivalent in Hospitality or Hotel/Restaurant Management and certifications in food management. Flynn Panera prioritizes the health and safety of its employees, requiring physical capability for extended periods of standing and mobility, lifting of moderate weight, and the ability to communicate effectively through reading and writing.

Flynn Panera is committed to diversity and inclusivity, offering reasonable accommodations during the hiring process and employment. The Restaurant Manager position is a critical leadership role designed to uphold Flynn Panera’s reputation for quality, warmth, and exceptional customer experiences. Candidates who embody the "Run it Like you Own It" mindset and are driven to succeed in a supportive and growing environment are encouraged to apply to join this dynamic and supportive team.
