Job Description

Panda Express is a well-established leader in the fast-casual dining industry, renowned for its signature American Chinese cuisine. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to be the largest family-owned American Chinese Restaurant brand in the United States with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. As a company deeply rooted in family values, Panda Express emphasizes personal and professional development for its associates and fosters a collaborative, supportive environment to help team members excel.

Panda Express is currently seeking experienced and motivated leaders to join their store management team as Assistant Managers. This role is critical for the smooth operation of a single store and involves overseeing hiring processes, managing daily operations, directing associates to meet financial and operational goals, and ensuring that every customer receives an exceptional dining experience. The company provides an in-depth, 3-week minimum Store Management Leadership Training program to equip new leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in this demanding yet rewarding position. The Assistant Manager acts as both a coach and leader, steering their team toward excellence while maintaining a supportive and productive workplace.

The Assistant Manager position at Panda Express offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. Associates enjoy free meals during work hours, competitive salary with bonus opportunities, and extensive medical, vision, dental, and disability insurance coverage for full-time employees. Additional benefits include a 401K plan with a company match, paid time off, holidays, bereavement leave, and more. Panda Express also supports work-life balance through programs like the Leave Share Program and provides discounts on gym memberships and theme parks. Employees benefit from on-going career and leadership development, scholarships, referral bonuses, and income protection including life and AD&D insurance.

This role requires flexibility in work location within a 50-mile radius, a flexible schedule that includes weekends, and the Serve Safe food safety certification. It also demands physical capabilities, such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Panda Express is committed to an inclusive workplace and offers reasonable accommodations for qualified applicants including those with disabilities.

Joining Panda Express as an Assistant Manager is not just a job—it's an opportunity to grow personally and professionally while being part of an organization that values diversity, inclusion, and community impact. This leadership position is ideal for individuals looking to advance their careers in the restaurant industry with the support of ongoing training and development, and a chance to contribute to the success of a prominent national brand.
