Job Description

This job opportunity is presented by an independently owned and operated Del Taco restaurant franchise, not directly by Del Taco LLC. This means that while the restaurant carries the Del Taco brand, the independent franchisee is your actual employer and is responsible for all employment decisions including hiring, firing, wages, supervision, and staffing. Del Taco is a well-known fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in Mexican-inspired food, known for its commitment to quality, value, and friendly customer service. This position offers a unique chance to be part of a growing team in a dynamic and customer-focused restaurant environment.

The role being offered is that of a key managerial position within the restaurant, tasked with upholding and delivering the Del Taco Brand experience while driving sales growth and maximizing operational efficiency and profitability. This position is critical in supporting the General Manager or serving as the lead manager to ensure all aspects of the restaurant run smoothly, from staffing and training to handling operational challenges and customer satisfaction. The position focuses on leadership, execution of brand standards, and fostering a positive team culture that aligns with the Del Taco Way.

As a leader in this role, you will be instrumental in recruiting, hiring, and retaining a passionate team of employees who are committed to exceeding expectations and delighting customers. You will ensure that all team members are certified through the company’s training programs, fostering continuous learning and promoting a workplace culture centered on service, teamwork, and fun. Evaluating team performance and recommending appropriate salary adjustments, disciplinary measures, and growth opportunities are fundamental responsibilities. In addition to team development, this role demands consistent execution of the Del Taco standards to maintain the quality and safety of both products and the customer environment.

Operational excellence is a major focus for this role. You'll oversee the maintenance of the restaurant facilities and equipment, ensure compliance with cleaning and safety schedules, and guarantee that employees maintain proper uniforms and present a consistent service experience. Marketing and sales growth are also key responsibilities, involving assisting with sales goal setting, increasing customer transaction counts and average spending, supporting local store marketing efforts to attract new clientele, and flawlessly executing promotions and campaigns.

Financial management is equally important. The position requires maintaining staffing in alignment with sales forecasts, complying with labor laws, managing inventory and orders to minimize waste and theft, enforcing cash handling procedures, conducting cash audits, and managing vendor relationships responsibly to control costs. The role demands a proactive approach to achieving controllable cost targets while promoting a safe and productive work environment.

Overall, this position offers the opportunity to develop critical management skills within a well-established brand, contribute to the growth and success of the restaurant, and be a part of a team dedicated to excellence in the fast-casual dining sector. It is suitable for individuals who are team-oriented, customer-focused, and committed to leadership and operational excellence within a vibrant, fast-paced setting.
