Job Description
Flynn Group, established by founder Greg Flynn in 1999, began its journey with the acquisition of eight Applebee's restaurants. Over the subsequent two decades, the company pursued steady growth by building new locations and acquiring other franchise operators, evolving to become the largest Applebee's franchisee in the world. With an extensive footprint spanning over 460 Applebee's restaurants across 24 states, Flynn Group's significant presence is a testament to its commitment to excellence and growth in the restaurant industry.
Flynn Applebee's represents one of the seven premier brands under the Flynn Group umbrella, which holds the distinction of being the largest franchise operator worldwide. The Flynn Group's diversified portfolio includes iconic and world-class brands such as Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. This diversified approach allows the company to maintain a strong market position while fostering innovation and excellence across different segments. The group’s mission is to be the premier operator within each brand by focusing on core values: genuinely caring for people, playing like champions, and winning as one.
The role of an Applebee's Assistant Manager within Flynn Group is a dynamic and engaging position integral to the restaurant's daily success. This leadership role involves comprehensive involvement in the day-to-day operations, ensuring that guests and staff alike are passionate and satisfied with their experience. Assistant Managers are expected to be exemplary team leaders and exceptional problem solvers who can handle stress constructively and maintain a positive work environment. While the role demands dedication and hard work, it also offers a rewarding experience filled with opportunities for personal growth and team success.
Assistant Managers have critical responsibilities such as ensuring timely and friendly service, promoting a positive corporate culture in line with Flynn Applebee's foundational values, and responding promptly to guest feedback to guarantee a superior dining experience. The position requires hands-on involvement in employee scheduling, inventory management, food preparation quality assurance, safety and sanitation oversight, and active participation in recruitment and training. They also play a vital role in maintaining operational standards and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $15.38 to $26.44 per hour, approximately $44,850 to $68,500 annually based on a 50-hour workweek, with potential for monthly bonuses depending on location. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with 2 to 3 years of restaurant management experience who want to advance their careers with a well-established and growth-oriented company. Candidates are encouraged to hold certifications such as Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol, which are considered advantageous.
Physical demands for the role include the ability to work various shifts, including weekends, stand and move actively for extended periods, lift objects up to 50 pounds, and possess the dexterity required for operational tasks. Flynn Group is an equal opportunity employer devoted to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce while providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities during the application process.
