As an Applebee's Assistant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of one of the company’s flagship restaurants. This is a full-time position that offers competitive compensation ranging from $19 to $23.50 per hour, or approximately $54,340 to $67,200 annually, based on a 50-hour work week. The role comes with the potential for monthly bonuses depending on location, making it a rewarding opportunity for motivated individuals. Your responsibilities will be comprehensive and engaging, requiring you to lead by example, nurture a passionate team, and ensure every guest has a memorable dining experience. You will need strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to handle stress while maintaining a positive work environment.

Your daily activities will include managing service quality, cultivating the company culture based on Flynn Group's core values, addressing guest complaints promptly, and making personal guest contacts to enhance the dining experience. You'll be responsible for inventory management, scheduling staff efficiently, maintaining safety and cleanliness standards, promoting team training and development, and ensuring adherence to all company policies and regulatory requirements.

The role demands versatility, as you will sometimes assist in various restaurant positions such as cooking, seating guests, bartending, and more. You will also participate in ongoing leadership development through the Management Development Program. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • at least 2 to 3 years of restaurant management experience
  • willingness to work various shifts including weekends
  • ability to stand and move for up to ten hours
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • basic reading and writing skills to facilitate communication
  • finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit
  • cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of core values and beliefs
  • ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff
  • ensures guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits established by Flynn Applebee's standards
  • maintains departmental inventory levels
  • ensures product preparation and presentation uncompromisingly meeting company standards by performing line checks
  • effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands
  • maintains effective safety and security programs
  • promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation
  • performs routine maintenance and immediately reports to the General Manager/Area Director of needed repairs
  • promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team member and management candidates
  • promotes Flynn Applebee's training procedures for new managers
  • helps maintain a trained staff through effective use of employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings and implementation of company policy and training systems
  • participates in the constant development of employees using One-on-One and performance documentation, and contributes to the completion of written evaluations
  • assesses the efficiency of employees, provides fair feedback on a regular basis, and continuously works with employees on their areas of development
  • monitors acceptable employee performance and documents situations that require or could lead to disciplinary or corrective action
  • assures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures
  • responsible for controlling cost in assigned department
  • compliance with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines
  • drives bi-weekly / weekly food and liquor inventories at the AD/GM's request and is accountable for completion
  • responsible for preparing and submitting accurate daily paperwork
  • assures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards
  • provides a role model for managers and employees
  • develops self on all store related technology
  • must be willing and able to work in all positions and assist in a team member position as needed when in a restaurant, including cooking on the line, expo, seating guests, bartending
  • uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies
