Job Description
Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn in 1999 with the acquisition of eight Applebee's restaurants, has grown into the largest franchisee operator of Applebee's in the world. Over the past two decades, Flynn Group expanded by opening new stores and acquiring other franchise operators, rapidly increasing their footprint to over 460 Applebee's restaurants across 24 states. This impressive growth demonstrates the company's commitment to excellence, operational leadership, and customer satisfaction. Flynn Group is a leading player in the restaurant and fitness industries, operating multiple world-class brands including Applebee's, Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. These diversified holdings underscore the company's ambition to be the premier operator in every brand it represents by upholding its core values: Care Genuinely for People, Play Like a Champion, and Win as One.
The role of Assistant Manager at Flynn Applebee's is a critical leadership position within their premier Applebee's brand. As an Assistant Manager, you will be engaged in the comprehensive day-to-day management of restaurant operations, playing an integral role in delivering outstanding guest experiences. This position requires a dynamic individual who can motivate staff, handle stress effectively, and contribute to creating an engaging, fun working environment. You will be responsible for ensuring timely, friendly service according to company standards and cultivating a workplace culture aligned with Flynn Applebee's core values and operational goals. Your leadership will ensure that the restaurant consistently meets high standards of food preparation, presentation, cleanliness, safety, and customer service.
In this role, you will actively participate in performance management by training, evaluating, and developing team members using structured programs to build both operational excellence and strong leadership skills within the restaurant. Problem-solving and effective communication are key, as you will handle guest complaints promptly and maintain open contact with customers to foster loyalty and satisfaction. The Assistant Manager also manages inventory control, prepares accurate paperwork, schedules employees efficiently to meet business demands, and supervises adherence to health and safety regulations. They play a vital role in recruitment and staff retention through quality hiring practices.
Success as an Assistant Manager at Flynn Applebee's requires versatility and a hands-on approach, including readiness to work in all team positions as needed—from cooking and bartending to seating guests. This position offers an outstanding opportunity to grow within a large, supportive organization that values teamwork, leadership development, and operational excellence. Opportunities for advancement arise through the company's Management Development Program, designed for ongoing leadership skill enhancement.
Joining Flynn Applebee's means becoming part of a highly respected company dedicated to employee growth, diversity, and inclusion. The company places great importance on safety, training, and employee well-being, creating a positive and rewarding workplace environment. Flynn Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to accommodating individuals with disabilities. This role offers a chance to contribute to a premier branded restaurant operator while enjoying an engaging work culture and competitive compensation.
