Job Description
Panda Express is a renowned leader in the fast-casual dining industry, specializing in American Chinese cuisine. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese Restaurant concept in the United States, operating close to 2,800 locations worldwide. The company is dedicated to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment for its associates. Panda Express emphasizes family values, professionalism, and community engagement, making it a desirable workplace for individuals seeking a rewarding career in the restaurant industry.
The company is currently seeking experienced leaders to join their store management team as Assistant Managers. This position plays a critical role in the success of individual stores by overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring that financial and guest service goals are met. The Assistant Manager position offers a competitive hourly pay range of $26.5 to $29.5, with compensation reflecting factors such as work location and experience. The role is full-time and comes with comprehensive benefits designed to support associates both professionally and personally.
As an Assistant Manager at Panda Express, you will be entrusted with a variety of responsibilities aimed at making your store a success. You will be in charge of hiring, managing, and directing associates to drive financial performance and uphold the high standards of guest experience that Panda Express is known for. To prepare you for these responsibilities, Panda Express provides a paid Store Management Leadership Training program lasting three or more weeks. This hands-on training equips new leaders with the knowledge, skills, and strategies they need to effectively manage a busy restaurant environment.
The role requires flexibility, as you will work in stores within a 50-mile radius and maintain a schedule that includes weekends. Food safety certification, specifically Serve Safe certification, is required to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. The position demands physical endurance, with duties involving standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, working in fast-paced environments, and using kitchen equipment safely and accurately.
Panda Express fosters a culture of ongoing career and leadership development, providing continuous training, educational assistance, and scholarships to its associates. Beyond career growth, the company values work-life balance and community involvement. The benefits package includes medical, vision, dental insurance, disability coverage, various paid leave options, 401K plans with company match, and fun perks such as free meals during shifts, theme park discounts, gym memberships, and more.
Panda Express is also committed to equal opportunity employment and inclusivity, complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and offering reasonable accommodations to support diverse applicants and employees. Overall, this position promises not only a stable and rewarding job but an opportunity to develop professionally within a supportive and dynamic company culture dedicated to its associates' success and well-being.
