Founded in Glendale, California, Panda Express has expanded to nearly 2,800 locations globally, making it a dominant leader in the fast-casual restaurant industry. Known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and a welcoming atmosphere, Panda Express continues to make a positive impact on the communities it serves. The company values family-oriented principles and strives to create a workplace where associates can thrive both professionally and personally. With a strong focus on career development and leadership training, Panda Express invests heavily in its employees to nurture their growth and success. Their inclusive culture supports a diverse workforce and promotes an environment where everyone is respected and empowered to contribute their best.
The role of Assistant Manager at Panda Express plays a critical part in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the management and leadership of a single store, ensuring that financial goals are met and that the guest experience remains outstanding. This position requires managing, hiring, and directing team members, facilitating a positive and efficient work environment. To ensure success, Panda Express provides a comprehensive store leadership training program lasting three or more weeks, combined with mentorship and ongoing support from the broader Panda community. This role offers a hands-on leadership experience with significant opportunities for advancement within the company, embracing both career and personal development. The Assistant Manager position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about hospitality, enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and are motivated to lead teams toward success.
Panda Express offers a competitive compensation package, inclusive of bonuses, paid meals, and comprehensive medical, vision, and dental insurance for full-time associates. Other benefits include voluntary disability and cancer protection insurance, pre-tax dependent care flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, holidays, bereavement and funeral leave, as well as a unique Leave Share Program. Employees also enjoy discounts on theme parks and gym memberships, and Panda Express encourages community involvement through various giving and volunteering initiatives. This position demands flexibility, as it requires working within a 50-mile radius of the store and maintaining a flexible schedule that includes weekends. Candidates are expected to be Serve Safe certified and possess the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities within a high-energy work setting. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work effectively in a hot, noisy kitchen environment. Panda Express is an equal opportunity employer that embraces diversity and provides reasonable accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
