Job Description

Panda Express is a leading fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in American Chinese cuisine. Established in Glendale, California, in 1983, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States with close to 2,800 locations worldwide. The company is deeply committed to creating enriching experiences for both its customers and associates by fostering a culture centered around family values, community engagement, and professional growth. As a brand, Panda Express places high importance on the development of its employees, offering extensive training, mentoring, and career advancement opportunities to enable associates at all levels to succeed and grow within the organization. The company prides itself on its inclusive and diverse work environment, where all individuals are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work and are equally valued and respected.

Panda Express is now seeking experienced leaders to join its store management team as Assistant Managers. This full-time role offers an hourly pay range of $26.5 to $29.5, with compensation influenced by work location and experience. The Assistant Manager position involves assisting in the day-to-day operation of a single Panda Express store with responsibilities ranging from hiring, training, and managing associates to driving the store’s financial success and ensuring exemplary customer service. The role is vital to the store’s performance; the Assistant Manager plays a key part in motivating teams, maintaining store standards, and achieving business goals. Candidates will receive over three weeks of paid leadership training designed to equip them with the skills needed to excel in their role. This includes hands-on training, mentorship from seasoned Panda leaders, and continuous career and leadership development programs.

The Assistant Manager will take charge of all operational aspects, ensuring the delivery of an exceptional guest experience while supporting the Panda culture of teamwork and excellence. Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment are crucial for success. Associates in this role are supported by a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, vision, dental insurance, short-term disability protections, 401k with company match, paid time off, and other perks such as discounts and community involvement opportunities. Panda Express emphasizes a safe and dynamic workspace, acknowledging the physical demands of the role such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working in a high-heat kitchen environment. The company is an equal opportunity employer and actively supports the American Disabilities Act, offering reasonable workplace accommodations to qualified individuals.

Joining Panda Express offers more than just a job — it provides a career path with ongoing education assistance, scholarship opportunities, and a supportive network keen on celebrating diversity and inclusion. Whether you are an experienced manager looking to take the next step or someone eager to develop leadership skills in a thriving restaurant environment, Panda Express is dedicated to helping you succeed while you make an impact on your team and the communities served. This role is perfect for those who thrive in energetic settings and are committed to delivering outstanding service excellence every day.
