The role of an Assistant Manager at Flynn Applebee’s involves leadership and active participation in daily restaurant operations. This position commands a hands-on approach to ensuring that every guest and staff member experiences exceptional service and a positive atmosphere. The Assistant Manager is entrusted with upholding company standards for service, product quality, and safety, while fostering a dynamic team environment that motivates and supports employees in their roles.

Key responsibilities include managing guest relations, responding promptly to complaints, maintaining inventory and sanitation standards, scheduling staff, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit
  • cultivates a culture in accordance with Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of core values and beliefs
  • ensures immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff
  • ensures guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits
  • maintains departmental inventory levels
  • ensures product preparation and presentation uncompromisingly meeting company standards by performing line checks
  • effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands
  • maintains effective safety and security programs
  • promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation
  • performs routine maintenance and immediately reports needed repairs
  • promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team member and management candidates
  • promotes Flynn Applebee's training procedures for new managers
  • helps maintain a trained staff through orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings and implementation of company policies and training systems
  • participates in the development of employees using One-on-One and performance documentation
  • assesses efficiency of employees and provides fair feedback regularly
  • monitors acceptable employee performance and documents disciplinary situations
  • assures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures
  • controls cost in assigned department
  • ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines
  • drives bi-weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories and is accountable for completion
  • prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork
  • assures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards
  • provides a role model for managers and employees
  • develops self on all store related technology
  • works in all positions and assists in team member roles as needed
  • uses Management Development Program for continuous leadership growth
