Job Description
This job opportunity is offered by an independent franchisee operating a Del Taco restaurant, not Del Taco LLC directly. The franchisee is responsible for all employment-related matters including hiring, firing, payroll, supervision, staffing, and scheduling decisions. As a franchise-owned restaurant, the establishment takes pride in delivering the famous Del Taco brand experience, emphasizing quality service, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
The position available is a lead management role where the individual will collaborate closely with the General Manager to drive exceptional restaurant performance through team leadership, operational oversight, and brand stewardship. The primary goal is to protect and grow the Del Taco brand through sales growth and efficient restaurant management. This role demands a committed, high-energy manager who can motivate the team, maintain high standards, and ensure an outstanding customer experience.
As a lead manager or support to the General Manager, you will be directly involved in crucial areas such as recruitment, training, and retention of employees aligned with Del Taco’s standards. Creating a culture of continuous learning, teamwork, and customer service excellence is a foundational part of this role. You will play an essential role in assessing employee performance, recommending compensation adjustments, and managing disciplinary processes to foster a productive, positive work environment.
Operational responsibilities include rigorous adherence to Del Taco’s operational standards, maintaining the restaurant facility and equipment, and ensuring that each customer receives quality products in line with brand specifications. You are also expected to enforce uniform and presentation standards among team members and guarantee that all point-of-purchase materials and signage are properly displayed.
Sales growth is a critical objective, and the position requires assisting the General Manager to set and communicate sales goals, manage staffing in alignment with sales forecasts, and increase customer counts and satisfaction. You will also support marketing efforts at the local level, stay informed about community events and competitive activity, and lead the team to exceed speed and service standards.
Financial performance is key, involving maintaining appropriate staffing to sales ratios, ensuring compliance with labor laws, ordering inventory accurately to limit waste and theft, managing cash handling and auditing processes, and overseeing safety and health standards. Efficient vendor management and cost control are essential to meeting profitability targets.
This position requires someone capable of executing multiple responsibilities with dedication and professionalism while embodying the Del Taco way. The work environment promises a culture dedicated to respect, teamwork, and employee development, with a commitment to equal opportunity and a harassment-free workplace. Continuing employment is subject to "at-will" status, meaning both employer and employee retain flexibility.
Individuals interested in this role should be prepared to support all aspects of restaurant management while upholding company policies and legal standards. The role is dynamic, requiring versatility, leadership acumen, and a passion for delivering an exceptional fast-food dining experience. This description covers the essential aspects of the position but is not exhaustive; additional duties may be assigned as needed by management.
