Job Description

This restaurant is independently owned and operated by a franchisee, which means it is not directly managed by Del Taco LLC. As such, employment for this particular role comes under the jurisdiction and management of the independent franchisee. The franchisee handles all employment-related matters including hiring, firing, wages, staffing, scheduling, and employee supervision. This structure fosters a more localized and responsive management approach, helping to adapt the business to the specific needs of the community and its customers while maintaining the overall brand standards of Del Taco. The restaurant operates in the vibrant and fast-paced quick-service restaurant industry, known for its emphasis on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. It adheres to the Del Taco way, which emphasizes brand protection, consistent quality, and exceptional service.

The position available is for a leadership role within the restaurant, serving as either the General Manager or a lead manager responsible for upholding and delivering the Del Taco brand experience. The primary objective of this role is to protect and promote the Del Taco brand, grow sales, and maximize the operational efficiency and profitability of the restaurant. This is achieved by leading a team according to the guiding principles of the Del Taco Way. The role requires a hands-on leader who is passionate about customer service, quality products, team development, and achieving sales and profitability targets.

The general manager or lead manager plays a crucial role in recruiting and retaining a motivated, trained, and service-oriented team who are committed to exceeding customer expectations. Performance management, including evaluating employees, recommending salary adjustments, and administering disciplinary actions in a fair and consistent manner, is an essential part of the role. The manager also oversees day-to-day operational standards such as maintaining the facility and equipment, delivering quality products meeting brand standards, and ensuring clean and safe customer environments.

Achieving sales goals involves strategic planning and execution, including helping set sales targets, scheduling staff according to sales projections, enhancing customer counts and transaction values, and supporting local marketing initiatives. The position demands a proactive approach to understanding the local market and competition to exploit opportunities to attract and retain customers. Furthermore, the manager ensures flawless execution of marketing campaigns and promotional activities.

Financial management responsibilities include labor compliance, inventory control to reduce waste and prevent theft, cash handling and audit procedures, and cost management related to repairs, supplies, and services. Safety and health standards must be consistently met, and the working environment is committed to equal employment opportunity and a discrimination-free workplace. The position requires the ability to perform essential job duties competently, whether with or without reasonable accommodation, and emphasizes teamwork, dedication, and productivity. Employment is at-will, reflecting the flexibility and expectations of the quick-service franchise model.
