The role of Applebee's Assistant Manager is integral in maintaining and enhancing the guest and staff experience on a daily basis. This position involves comprehensive engagement with all aspects of day-to-day restaurant operations. Furthermore, they play an active role in recruiting quality team members and management candidates, supporting training processes, facilitating ongoing employee development, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

The role also includes cost control responsibilities, conducting food and liquor inventories, accurate paperwork submission, and upholding health standards to meet or exceed health department and company sanitation requirements. Assistant Managers serve as role models for staff, develop proficiency with store-related technology, and exhibit flexibility by working in various team member roles, including culinary and customer service positions as needed.

Compensation for this role ranges from $19 to $23.50 per hour, approximating an annual salary between $54,340 and $67,200 based on a 50-hour workweek. Additional financial incentives may include location-dependent monthly bonuses. Managers with at least six months of continuous employment receive additional paid time off, with further vacation benefits increasing based on tenure.   • Helps maintain a trained staff through effective orientation, training sessions, meetings, and implementation of company policies
  • Participates in constant employee development with one-on-one and performance documentation
  • Assesses employee efficiency and provides feedback for development
  • Monitors employee performance and documents situations requiring disciplinary action
  • Assures compliance with company policies and legal regulations
  • Controls cost in assigned department
  • Drives bi-weekly or weekly food and liquor inventories
  • Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork
  • Assures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and company standards
  • Provides a role model for managers and employees
  • Develops self on all store-related technology
