Job Description

Panda Express is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, founded in Glendale, California, in 1983. Operating with close to 2,800 locations globally, Panda Express is renowned for delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences by blending authentic flavors with fast, friendly service. The company is committed to creating an inclusive workplace rooted in family values, where associates are inspired not only to improve their professional careers but also to enrich their personal lives. This commitment is reflected in their dedication to the professional and personal development of their team members through extensive training, mentorship, and community support. As an industry leader in the fast-casual dining sector, Panda Express places a strong emphasis on fostering a supportive and dynamic environment where employees can thrive and grow.

The role of Assistant Manager at Panda Express is a pivotal position within the store management team. This role is designed for experienced leaders who are passionate about driving operational excellence and building successful teams. As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of a single store location, which encompasses the hiring, management, and directing of associates to meet financial goals while ensuring outstanding guest experiences. You will play a key role in cultivating a positive workplace culture that aligns with Panda Express's values and goals. To support your success, the company offers a comprehensive paid Store Management Leadership Training program lasting three or more weeks, which equips you with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel as a store leader.

In this role, you will be expected to take charge of all aspects of store operations, from staff scheduling and performance management to financial oversight and compliance with food safety standards. The Assistant Manager acts as a role model and mentor for associates, fostering teamwork and delivering exceptional customer service. Panda Express values flexibility and adaptability in its leaders, recognizing the fast-paced and dynamic nature of the restaurant industry. Along with hands-on leadership training, the company offers continuous career and leadership development opportunities, including scholarships, ongoing education assistance, and a pathway to management positions, showcasing their commitment to long-term employee growth.

Furthermore, Panda Express prides itself on rewarding its team members with a robust compensation and benefits package. In addition to free meals during shifts, associates receive access to medical, vision, dental, and voluntary insurance coverages, as well as generous paid time off and holiday pay. Other benefits include a 401K plan with company match, bonuses, accessible discounts, and programs that encourage community involvement. The company also supports associates' physical and mental well-being by providing a flexible, inclusive work environment where diversity is respected and equal opportunity is a foundational principle. Panda Express is committed to complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and encourages accommodations as needed to ensure all applicants and employees can participate fully.
