Job Description

BURGER KING, established in 1954, is the second largest fast food hamburger chain globally, renowned for its high-quality, great-tasting, and affordable food. With over 11 million guests visiting daily, the brand is synonymous with the WHOPPER and has built its reputation on premium ingredients, signature recipes, and a family-friendly dining atmosphere. BURGER KING's extensive history spans more than 50 years, making it a trusted leader in the fast-food industry committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences to customers worldwide.

The Assistant Manager (AM) role at BURGER KING is a pivotal position responsible for steering the daily operations of a single restaurant towards success. Reporting directly to the Restaurant General Manager (RGM), the AM plays a crucial role in managing a diverse team of 20 to 45 employees, including Hourly Shift Coordinators and Team Members. The focus of the AM is on enhancing restaurant profitability, ensuring stellar guest service, fostering effective people development, and maintaining smooth operational management.

The AM is tasked with managing inventory costs meticulously, placing and receiving inventory orders, and conducting regular inventory inspections on daily, weekly, and monthly bases. They oversee restaurant asset management and ensure that preventive maintenance of the facility and equipment aligns with BURGER KING’s stringent company standards. The role demands interaction with external vendors when necessary to uphold operational efficiency. Furthermore, the AM safeguards the restaurant’s cash control and security procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Guest experience is at the heart of the AM's responsibilities. Motivating and directing team members to exceed guest expectations by delivering accurate, fast, and friendly service while maintaining a clean environment is paramount. In terms of people management, the AM provides continuous coaching and feedback to Shift Coordinators and Team Members, enhancing the team’s skill set and overall restaurant performance.

Operational excellence is another core focus area for the AM. They direct the team towards efficient product preparation and sales, ensuring prompt delivery within established speed of service guidelines. The AM also ensures adherence to BURGER KING’s brand and operational standards. At times, the AM may need to perform the duties of an Hourly Shift Coordinator to maintain seamless restaurant operations.

This full-time role requires a candidate who is at least 18 years of age, holds a High School Diploma or GED (with college education preferred), and possesses 1-2 years of quick service restaurant experience, ideally with management exposure.
