The Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role in the operations leadership of a restaurant, holding a key position responsible for driving profitability, enhancing guest service, fostering people development, and managing daily restaurant operations efficiently. This role is instrumental in supporting the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) to ensure smooth and profitable functioning of a single restaurant unit. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in restaurant management or supervisory role
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Customer-focused mindset
  • Physical ability to stand and move throughout the restaurant during shifts

Job Duties

  • Assists in managing inventory costs and maintains inventory by performing daily and weekly counts
  • Places and receives inventory truck orders
  • Ensures preventative maintenance of restaurant facility and equipment is completed in accordance with company standards
  • Ensures that restaurant follows all cash control and security procedures (e.g. safe counting, cash drawers)
  • Calls guests back who have had problems/complaints
  • Motivates and directs team to exceed guest expectations with accurate, fast and friendly service in a clean facility
  • Partners with the Restaurant General Manager and team to create action plans to improve guest metrics
  • Recruits and interviews potential employees
  • Completes orientation for new employees
  • Creates and monitors schedule and manages team on-boarding process
  • Establishes a positive culture in the restaurant
  • Directs restaurant team toward a common goal while meeting KPIs
  • Ensures that restaurant upholds food safety and brand standards
