Job Description

Culver's is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain recognized for its commitment to quality food, excellent guest service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Known primarily for its ButterBurgers and fresh frozen custard, Culver's has built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional dining experiences to guests across its many locations. Rooted in values of quality, community, and hospitality, the company continually strives to uphold these principles by employing skilled and motivated team members who embody its mission and culture. Culver's fast-casual dining approach combines quick service with an emphasis on product quality and guest satisfaction, making it a preferred choice for customers looking for delicious, freshly prepared meals in a friendly setting. The organization’s success is driven by a team dedicated to maintaining high standards in operational efficiency, food safety, and customer engagement, supported by robust training and leadership development programs.

The role of Shift Manager at Culver's is a critical leadership position responsible for ensuring operational excellence during each shift. This role requires overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations including guest service, product quality, safety, and team management. The Shift Manager runs the shift effectively to guarantee that food production, order accuracy, and cleanliness meet established system standards. A key responsibility is to ensure guests receive their orders promptly—five minutes or less for in-house dining and four minutes or less for drive-thru—while maintaining top-notch presentation and food safety protocols.

In this dynamic position, the Shift Manager also accesses and completes weekly sales and labor financial tracking, coaches team members on safety and operational procedures, and fosters a positive, energetic work environment. The role demands strong organizational skills with duties extending to inventory management, cash reconciliation, maintaining marketing displays, and ensuring employee cross-training. Leadership development forms an integral part of this position as the Shift Manager mentors crew chiefs and shift leaders to support their professional growth. The position requires a hands-on approach to delegation, team coordination, and maintenance of restaurant policies related to hygiene, uniforms, and safety standards. Additionally, the Shift Manager plays a key role in communication within the team by facilitating meetings, managing email responses, and ensuring compliance with company protocols.

With a focus on management leadership success factors, this role emphasizes clear and effective communication, adaptability to change, sound decision-making, creativity, and high accountability. The Shift Manager acts as a role model, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence. This position is ideal for an individual with prior supervisory experience in the food service industry who holds a college degree or equivalent experience and seeks to advance in restaurant management. Salary is commensurate with experience and aligned with market standards, reflecting the level of responsibility and expertise required for this leadership position at Culver's. Overall, this role offers an opportunity to contribute to a thriving brand with a strong commitment to quality and guest satisfaction while developing valuable managerial skills in a fast-paced environment.
