Panda Express is a leading restaurant chain specializing in American Chinese cuisine, widely recognized as the largest family-owned Asian dining concept in the United States. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has steadily grown to nearly 2,800 locations around the globe, embodying a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences while fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment rooted in strong family values. The company stands out not only for its delicious food offerings but also for its comprehensive investment in associate development, inclusive culture, and career advancement opportunities. As part of their dedication to nurturing talent, Panda Express offers paid Store Management Leadership Training, ongoing mentorship, and robust support from a community that genuinely cares about its associates' professional success and personal growth.

The Assistant Manager role at Panda Express is a pivotal position within the store management team, dedicated to ensuring operational excellence and superior guest experiences. This leadership position involves assisting with the daily management of a single store, where responsibilities span from hiring and directing team members to managing store performance to achieve financial objectives. Assistant Managers play an integral role in creating a dynamic, customer-focused environment, ensuring the delivery of quality food and service that meet the brand’s high standards. To set candidates up for success, Panda Express provides a comprehensive three or more weeks of paid store leadership training. This training prepares the Assistant Manager to lead teams effectively, maintain operational standards, and handle the fast-paced and high-energy environment typical of the restaurant industry.

Panda Express values flexibility, reliability, and strong communication skills, requiring managers to adapt to a variety of challenges while fostering a positive workplace culture. The job also entails maintaining safety and food quality standards, including ensuring team members are Serve Safe certified. The company offers competitive compensation and a generous benefits package, including medical, dental, vision coverage, paid time off, 401K with company match, disability and life insurance, and exclusive discounts. Moreover, Panda Express supports ongoing career and leadership development, enabling employees to advance within the organization while participating in community engagement initiatives and benefiting from continuous education assistance and scholarships.

As an Equal Opportunity Employer, Panda Express embraces diversity and inclusion, offering accommodations during the hiring process to ensure all applicants have the ability to succeed. This role suits individuals passionate about leadership in the hospitality industry and driven to impact team performance positively while contributing to the rich culture Panda Express is known for. The dynamic nature of the job also requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
