Job Description
Flynn Group, established by Greg Flynn, launched its journey into the restaurant franchising world with the acquisition of eight Applebee's locations in 1999. Over the next two decades, the company strategically expanded not only by building new stores but also by acquiring additional franchise operations. Today, Flynn Group stands as the largest Applebee's franchisee globally, managing over 460 Applebee's restaurants across 24 states. This solid foundation has allowed the company to diversify and extend its reach into various brands, industries, and countries, creating a leading presence in the franchising sector.
Flynn Group is a diverse, multifaceted organization and one of the largest franchise operators worldwide. Among its seven premier brands sits Flynn Applebee's, a key segment within the group. The company’s portfolio spans well-known restaurant brands such as Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and even Planet Fitness, reflecting its commitment to being a premier operator within each brand. This expansive footprint underlines Flynn Group’s mission to deliver quality experiences via core company values: Care Genuinely for People, Play like a Champion, and Win as One.
In the role of Applebee's Assistant Manager at Flynn Group, professionals will engage in dynamic and multifaceted responsibilities supporting the daily operations of the restaurant. The Assistant Manager serves as a vital leader who cultivates a passionate environment for both staff and guests. The position calls for individuals who exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and can manage stress while maintaining team cohesion and high service standards. This role is key to ensuring that guests enjoy friendly, timely service aligned with company standards, fostering a positive customer experience consistently.
Assistant Managers at Flynn Applebee's are instrumental in executing company policies, maintaining excellent food quality and presentation, and upholding health and safety standards. They oversee employee scheduling to meet business demands and manage inventory systematically. A focus on employee development is integral, including training, performance reviews, and fostering an inclusive culture that promotes teamwork and leadership growth. The role requires hands-on involvement, where the Assistant Manager may step into various team member roles such as cooking, seating guests, or bartending as operational needs arise.
Compensation for this vital role ranges from $20.98 to $27.27 per hour, equating to approximately $60,000 to $78,000 annually based on a 50-hour workweek, with the potential for monthly bonuses depending on the location. Flynn Group offers competitive wages alongside profit sharing or bonus opportunities, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits, a 401k plan with company match, paid vacation, and sick leave. Physical demands include the ability to work varied shifts, possess stamina for standing and moving about for extended periods, lift weights up to 50 pounds safely, and use fine motor skills for communication and tasks.
Overall, this role offers a dynamic career opportunity within a leading foodservice franchising company with a supportive culture, leadership development programs, and competitive benefits—making it an excellent fit for candidates seeking growth and impact in the hospitality industry.
