The Applebee's Assistant Manager role at Flynn Group is a dynamic position involving comprehensive engagement in the daily operations of one of the company's Applebee's restaurants. This position is integral to fostering enthusiastic guest and staff experiences each day. The Assistant Manager plays a crucial leadership role, requiring excellent problem-solving skills, strong stress management capabilities, and the ability to motivate a diverse team. In addition to team leadership and service excellence, the Assistant Manager helps maintain operational efficiency through inventory control, employee scheduling, compliance with health and safety regulations, and quality assurance of food preparation and presentation. They act as role models and mentors to employees, contributing to recruitment, training, and performance development programs. This position also demands flexibility and hands-on involvement, including working in various roles such as cooking, bartending, or seating guests as needed. Compensation for this role ranges from $18.18 to $25.71 per hour, approximately $51,994 to $73,530 annually based on a 50-hour workweek, with the possibility of monthly bonuses depending on location. Job Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
  • Ability to work various shifts including weekends
  • Ability to stand and move well-paced for up to ten hours
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to read and write for communication
  • Possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
  • Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications a plus

Job Duties

  • Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit
  • Cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of core values and beliefs
  • Ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff
  • Ensures guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits
  • Maintains departmental inventory levels
  • Ensures product preparation and presentation meet company standards by performing line checks
  • Effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands
  • Maintains effective safety and security programs
  • Promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation
  • Performs routine maintenance and reports needed repairs to management
  • Promotes quality recruitment and referrals for potential team members and management candidates
  • Promotes training procedures for new managers
  • Maintains a trained staff through orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings and company policies
  • Participates in employee development using performance documentation and evaluations
  • Assesses efficiency of employees, provides fair feedback, and supports employee development
  • Monitors employee performance and documents situations requiring disciplinary action
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures
  • Controls cost in assigned department
  • Complies with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines
  • Drives bi-weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories as requested
  • Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork
  • Assures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and company standards
  • Provides a role model for managers and employees
  • Develops self on store related technology
  • Works in all positions and assists in team member roles as needed
  • Uses the Management Development Program for continuous leadership growth
