Job Description
Panda Express is a renowned leader in the fast-casual dining industry, specializing in American Chinese cuisine and proudly maintaining its status as the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. Founded in Glendale, California, in 1983, Panda Express has expanded significantly and now operates approximately 2,800 locations worldwide. The company is deeply committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace where associates can grow both professionally and personally. Panda Express emphasizes a culture that values family, community, and continuous development, making it a desirable employer for motivated individuals seeking career advancement in the restaurant industry.
Panda Express is currently looking for experienced and dedicated individuals to join their store management team as Assistant Managers. This role plays a critical part in the smooth operation and success of a single store, blending leadership, operational management, and hands-on involvement in day-to-day activities. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for supporting the store’s operations by hiring, managing, and directing associates to meet financial objectives and ensure that guests receive exceptional service. To prepare candidates for success, Panda Express provides a comprehensive paid Store Management Leadership Training program lasting three or more weeks, alongside ongoing mentorship and support from its community.
This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $28 to $31 per hour, with the exact pay depending on factors such as location and experience. Benefits include free meals while working, medical, dental, and vision insurance, voluntary short-term disability, cancer income protection, and a 401(k) plan with company match, among others. Additionally, the company provides paid time off, paid holidays, bereavement leave, discounts on theme parks and gym memberships, and more. Employees also have opportunities for career growth, leadership development, education assistance, and scholarships, reflecting Panda Express’s commitment to nurturing its associates' futures.
In this role, physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are important. The workspace can be challenging with hot conditions, noise, and the necessity for standing long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. Candidates should hold a high school diploma, be flexible to work within a 50-mile radius, and have a flexible schedule availability including weekends. Food safety knowledge, including a Serve Safe certification, is required. Panda Express deeply values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity employment, ensuring that everyone has access to a welcoming, respectful, and accommodating work environment. The company complies with all ADA guidelines and provides reasonable accommodations where necessary. Overall, the Assistant Manager position at Panda Express is not only a great opportunity to advance leadership skills but also to be part of a family-oriented company dedicated to making a positive impact in communities worldwide.
