Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, boasting close to 2,800 locations worldwide. As a company, Panda Express is dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences while fostering a culture that values professional growth, personal development, and community involvement. The company is built on strong family values, creating a supportive and collaborative work environment where associates are encouraged to thrive both personally and professionally.

The role of Assistant Manager at Panda Express is a pivotal position within the store management team. This opportunity is designed for experienced leaders who are passionate about guiding teams to success and delivering outstanding guest experiences. As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the operation of a single Panda Express store. Your duties include hiring, managing, and directing associates to meet financial goals and operational standards. You will play a crucial role in driving the store's success by fostering a positive team environment, ensuring high-quality service, and maintaining efficient operational processes.

To prepare you for this leadership role, Panda Express provides a comprehensive paid Store Management Leadership Training program lasting three or more weeks. This hands-on training is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in managing daily store operations, leading your team effectively, and achieving business objectives. Beyond training, Panda Express offers mentorship and ongoing support through their Panda community, which is committed to your growth and success.

Working as an Assistant Manager at Panda Express comes with a robust benefits package and numerous rewards. Employees enjoy free meals during work hours and a generous compensation structure that includes bonus opportunities. Full-time associates have access to medical, vision, dental, voluntary short-term disability, and cancer income protection insurance. Additionally, the company offers a 401K plan with company match, pre-tax dependent care flexible spending accounts, paid time off, paid holidays, bereavement and funeral leave, and a Leave Share Program. To add to these benefits, Panda Express provides discounts on theme parks, gym memberships, and more, along with opportunities to give back to the community.

The company prides itself on continuous career and leadership development, providing ongoing education assistance, scholarships, and a lucrative associate referral bonus. Employee income protection is also prioritized with disability, life, and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance coverage. Panda Express affirmatively embraces diversity and inclusion as an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with laws requiring workplace accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The company ensures that all employees have the resources and support necessary to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment that demands effective communication, adaptability, and conflict resolution skills.
