Job Description

Panda Express, a renowned leader in the fast-casual dining industry, is looking for experienced leaders to join their store management team. Established in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to be the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, boasting close to 2,300 locations worldwide. This growth is a testament to their strong commitment to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences and fostering a workplace culture that prioritizes the professional and personal development of its associates. Panda Express is a community-driven organization that values family principles and continuously strives to inspire its team members to improve their lives both inside and outside of work.

The company is currently seeking an Assistant Manager who will play a vital role in supporting the operations of a single store. This is a hands-on leadership position where the Assistant Manager is responsible for recruiting, managing, and directing store associates to achieve financial goals while ensuring outstanding guest satisfaction. The role demands someone capable of making the store a success through effective leadership and operational acumen. To prepare the candidate for success, Panda Express offers an extensive three or more weeks of paid Store Management Leadership Training, mentorship, and ongoing support.

The compensation package for this role is competitive, with hourly pay ranging from $26.5 to $29.5, influenced by factors such as location and experience. Additionally, the company breathes life into its values by rewarding its team with benefits like free meals while working, medical, dental and vision insurance, voluntary short-term disability and cancer income protection insurance, a 401K plan with company match, and paid time off including holidays and bereavement leave. Further incentives include discounts on theme park tickets and gym memberships, community engagement opportunities, and career advancement programs, creating an engaging environment for employees to thrive.

As Assistant Manager, flexibility is key; candidates must be ready to work within a 50-mile radius and must be open to varied schedules that include weekends. Food safety certification such as Serve Safe is required, and candidates must be physically capable of handling the demands of a busy restaurant environment, which includes standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working effectively in fast-paced, high-temperature conditions. The company respects and supports ADA accommodations, ensuring that all qualified individuals are given equal opportunity to apply and succeed.

Joining Panda Express means becoming part of an organization committed to equal opportunity employment and maintaining a respectful workplace free from discrimination based on gender, race, age, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic. The company maintains compliance with all legal standards related to workplace accommodations, ensuring an inclusive environment that fosters diversity and growth.

This role offers more than just a paycheck; it offers a career path. With opportunities for leadership development, continuous education assistance, lucrative referral bonuses, and comprehensive training programs, Panda Express is dedicated to helping its associates build rewarding careers within the fast-casual restaurant industry. If you are looking for a stable, inspiring, and supportive work environment where you can grow and lead, this opportunity at Panda Express could be your next step.
