Job Description
Panda Express is a prominent leader in the fast-casual dining industry, recognized as the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. Founded in Glendale, California, in 1983, Panda Express has grown to operate nearly 2,300 locations globally, serving exceptional Asian dining experiences to a diverse clientele. The company prides itself on fostering a family-oriented environment that emphasizes the professional and personal growth of its associates. This commitment is reflected in the comprehensive support and development programs Panda offers, including paid Store Management Leadership Training, ongoing mentorship, and a strong community network dedicated to helping team members succeed in their careers.
This role is for an Assistant Manager within one of Panda Express's store locations. As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the store, ensuring that the team works efficiently to meet financial goals while delivering outstanding guest experiences. Your leadership will be key in hiring, managing, and directing associates to promote a positive and productive work environment. Your success in this role will directly contribute to the store's overall performance and customer satisfaction.
To prepare you for success, Panda Express provides a structured leadership training program lasting three or more weeks, coupled with hands-on paid training. This program is designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge to manage store operations effectively and lead your team with confidence. The position offers a flexible work schedule, including the requirement to work weekends and be available to work at a store location within a 50-mile radius. The pay range for this role is $26.5 to $29.5 per hour, determined by factors such as location and experience.
Panda Express values inclusivity and diversity, being an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to providing equal employment opportunities regardless of sex, gender, race, age, disability, or any other legally protected status. The company also complies fully with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), ensuring reasonable accommodations are available throughout the hiring process and employment.
In addition to competitive hourly pay, Panda Express offers a generous benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance for full-time associates, voluntary short-term disability, cancer income protection insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid time off including holidays and bereavement leave, and a host of other perks such as discounts on theme parks and gym memberships. This holistic approach to employee welfare underscores Panda Express's dedication to cultivating a workplace where associates can thrive both professionally and personally.
