Job Description

Panda Express is a renowned leader in the fast-casual dining industry, specializing in American Chinese cuisine. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, with nearly 2,300 locations globally. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering a workplace environment grounded in family values, inclusivity, and continuous development. Panda Express is committed to the professional and personal growth of its associates, offering comprehensive training programs, mentorship, and a supportive community that collectively drives success and innovation within the restaurant industry.

The role of Assistant Manager at Panda Express is an exciting opportunity for experienced leaders who are passionate about leadership and operational excellence. As an Assistant Manager, you will be pivotal in managing the operations of a single store, overseeing activities ranging from hiring and directing associates to ensuring financial goals are met and guests receive top-tier service. This role is critical to the success of the store and requires a hands-on approach coupled with strategic thinking and people management skills. Panda Express invests significantly in its leaders, providing a 3 or more weeks of paid store leadership training to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead effectively, manage dynamic teams, and deliver outstanding results.

This full-time position comes with a competitive pay range of $30 to $33 per hour, determined by factors such as location and experience. The Assistant Manager role is designed for flexible leaders who thrive in a fast-paced environment, are adaptable to flexible schedules including weekends, and capable of working within a 50-mile radius of store locations. Beyond the operational duties, this position offers the opportunity to participate in the company’s extensive benefits package and career development programs. Panda Express believes in rewarding dedication and hard work not only through monetary bonuses but also through enriching benefits such as medical, dental, vision insurance, paid time off, discounts, and retirement plans with company matching. Leadership at Panda is about more than just managing a restaurant; it's about inspiring and developing future leaders in a growing company that prioritizes community involvement, inclusion, and ongoing education assistance.

Working at Panda Express means joining a company that values diversity and equal opportunity. They maintain strict compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to workplace accommodations and discrimination protections, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Their commitment to an inclusive workforce ensures that all employees receive fair treatment and reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process and their employment. Whether you are a seasoned restaurant leader or looking to elevate your career in foodservice management, Panda Express provides a welcoming environment and the tools needed for your success and growth within the organization.
