Job Description

Panda Express is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, founded in 1983 in Glendale, California. With nearly 2,300 locations worldwide, Panda Express has built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences to its guests. The company is deeply committed to its values of family, community, and personal development. Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., the parent company, fosters a supportive environment that emphasizes professional growth, leadership, and mentorship, aiming to inspire employees to better their lives through career opportunities in the food service industry. As an industry leader, Panda Express combines tradition with innovation to maintain its standing at the forefront of the quick-service restaurant market.

The Assistant Manager role at Panda Express centers around supporting the operations of a single store. This leadership position is crucial to the success and smooth functioning of the restaurant. The Assistant Manager is responsible for directing and managing the store’s team, including hiring, training, and motivating associates to meet financial targets and maintain outstanding guest experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about teamwork, operational excellence, and customer service in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Candidates for this role will receive comprehensive store management leadership training that lasts for three or more weeks, designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. The training includes practical, hands-on experience supported by mentorship from Panda’s leadership community, ensuring new managers are well prepared to handle their responsibilities effectively. This position offers a chance to grow within the company through ongoing career development and leadership training programs. The Assistant Manager not only oversees daily restaurant operations but also plays a key role in cultivating a positive work culture aligned with Panda Express’s commitment to its family of associates.

This full-time position includes an attractive compensation package that features bonus opportunities as well as a variety of benefits such as medical, vision, dental insurance, and voluntary short-term disability coverage. Associates enjoy paid time off, paid holidays, bereavement leave, and participation in the Leave Share Program, in addition to a 401(k) plan with company match to support financial security. The company also offers unique perks including free meals during shifts, discounts on theme park tickets and gym memberships, education assistance, scholarships, and referral bonuses. Panda Express emphasizes the importance of community involvement and offers opportunities for associates to give back, reinforcing its family and community-oriented culture.

Panda Express values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer, ensuring a workplace free from discrimination and providing reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This role is ideal for candidates who are energetic, adaptable, and seek to contribute to one of the nation’s most respected and fastest-growing restaurant brands. If you are looking for a meaningful career where you can develop your leadership abilities while making a positive impact on your team and guests, the Assistant Manager position at Panda Express is an excellent opportunity to consider.
