Job Description
KFC, a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain, is renowned for its delicious fried chicken and exceptional customer service. This particular KFC location operates as an independently owned and operated franchise. This structure provides a unique opportunity for team members to work in a dynamic and locally managed environment while benefiting from the brand's established reputation and standards. KFC franchises are committed to delivering high-quality food, maintaining cleanliness, and fostering a positive guest experience, all essential to the brand's sustained success worldwide.
The Assistant Manager role at this independently owned KFC restaurant offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals seeking to develop their management skills in the food service industry. This position serves as an excellent training ground for aspiring restaurant managers, allowing the individual to expand their leadership responsibilities progressively. As an Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the Restaurant General Manager to oversee the operational aspects of the restaurant, ensuring that both business goals and team success are achieved. Your influence will be critical in shaping the team’s performance and driving the overall success of the restaurant.
In this role, the Assistant Manager is entrusted with the ownership of the guest experience, ensuring not only friendly and engaging interactions with guests but also that the restaurant environment remains clean and welcoming. Additionally, you will oversee that meals are served hot and fresh, maintaining the high-quality food standards synonymous with the KFC brand. One of your critical functions will be to grow and mentor the team through effective training and strategic hiring. Your ability to communicate goals, promotions, and business updates clearly will foster a collaborative, family-like environment, promoting teamwork and high morale within the staff.
Your responsibilities may also extend to operational duties such as preparing work schedules, ordering food and supplies, managing daily paperwork, and handling financial tasks like making daily deposits. These duties provide a broad spectrum of hands-on experience that is essential for understanding restaurant management's complexities. You will also provide on-the-job training to employees, helping new hires to integrate smoothly and supporting ongoing professional development for all team members.
Success in this role requires leading by example with the highest standards of customer service, cleanliness, and food quality. Utilizing available resources efficiently for training and development will be paramount to building a strong, capable team. You should take pride in representing KFC’s values and enjoy thriving in a fast-paced environment where goal orientation is key. A positive attitude, including a smile and enthusiasm, is a must, as these traits contribute significantly to customer satisfaction and team spirit.
Physical requirements include some heavy lifting ranging between 25 to 85 pounds, extended periods of standing, and maintaining safety around high-temperature equipment, boiling water, and hot shortening. Excellent auditory capabilities are necessary to respond to cooking equipment alarms, and manual dexterity will be needed for tasks such as packing food and cleaning. The ability to maintain confidentiality regarding company operating procedures and results is critical to this position as well.
This job posting clarifies that the franchisee responsible for this restaurant will be the sole employer responsible for employment-related matters and hiring decisions. Candidates seeking accommodations during the application or hiring process due to disabilities may contact the location directly at any time. The position offers a unique opportunity to grow your career in restaurant management within a supportive franchise environment, contributing directly to the success of a beloved global brand locally.
