Job Description

Cooper's Hawk is a renowned lifestyle brand that seamlessly blends a Napa-style tasting room experience with wine-centric retail, a full-service restaurant, bar, and private event space. Established in 2005, Cooper's Hawk is committed to providing a modern yet relaxed dining atmosphere where guests can enjoy exquisite wine paired flawlessly with scratch-kitchen crafted menus. The company is also home to one of the largest wine clubs in the world, offering premier wines and unique member benefits such as curated dining and travel experiences. Recently, Cooper's Hawk expanded its culinary offerings with the launch of Piccolo Buco, introducing the flavors of Rome and further enriching its diverse dining portfolio. The brand is dedicated to creating memorable, high-quality culinary experiences and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in every facet of its operations.

As an Assistant Kitchen Operations Manager at Cooper's Hawk, you will play a pivotal role in upholding the brand's commitment to culinary excellence and operational superiority. Working closely with the Executive Kitchen Manager, you will lead a dynamic and innovative scratch kitchen where attention to detail, quality, and safety are paramount. Your leadership will be essential in mentoring kitchen managers and team members, ensuring consistency in food preparation, and maintaining high safety standards. In this position, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, from managing staff schedules to utilizing advanced tools such as POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory management solutions to optimize efficiency and productivity.

Your responsibilities will include conducting line checks, managing inventory orders, leading training efforts, and introducing new menu items to keep the dining experience fresh and exciting. You will be a key player in fostering a healthy and positive workplace culture, promoting teamwork, and ensuring effective communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams. This role demands a hands-on approach, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to respond proactively to challenges to maintain smooth operations. You will also manage special events, including themed Wine Club dinners, which require meticulous planning and execution.

Furthermore, your role extends to employee development, where you will engage in hiring processes, conduct performance coaching, and support career growth within the culinary staff. Cooper's Hawk values a respectful, positive, and professional kitchen atmosphere, and your leadership will help embody these values daily. This position offers a rich combination of operational management, culinary stewardship, and team mentorship, ideal for a dedicated professional looking to advance their career in a restaurant environment that prioritizes quality and guest satisfaction.

Cooper's Hawk supports its team members with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and telehealth options, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid parental leave, generous paid time off, and access to wellness and mental health programs. This role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, and a willingness to commit to 50-60 hours per week. The Assistant Kitchen Operations Manager position is crucial for maintaining Cooper's Hawk's reputation as a leader in the culinary and hospitality industry, providing opportunities for professional growth and development.
