Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Minimum 3 years front of house restaurant management experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- At least 18 years old (19 in Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio)
- Passion for cooking and food safety
- High standards for food quality and customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of food and health department requirements
- Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, overnight, and holidays
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to use tools and equipment like knives, ladders, box cutters, pallet jacks
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment including hats, hair nets, and beard guards
Job Qualifications
- 3 plus years experience as a front of house restaurant manager in retail, restaurant, or hospitality
- Proven oral and written communication skills
- High school diploma
- Must be at least 18 years old (19 in specific states)
- Passion for cooking delicious, healthy, and safe food
- High standards for food quality and customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal food and health regulations
- Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, Nutrition, or Hotel/Restaurant Management preferred
- Retail, culinary, or grocery experience preferred
- Experience with production planning software preferred
Job Duties
- Ensure all guests are greeted and assisted proactively with accurate and timely information
- Make product and service recommendations to guests and accommodate special requests
- Manage order guides and ordering deadlines for ingredients, supplies, beer and wine
- Properly receive and stock goods following rotation standards
- Manage product to reduce shrink and damage
- Forecast and maintain store teams by collaborating in sourcing, selecting, hiring and training new team members
- Build sales and profitability of the department
- Partner with Kitchen Manager to write and manage weekly team schedules
- Support Kitchen Manager in managing sales, profitability, and margins
- Create food production schedules ensuring food safety and quality
- Conduct weekly inventory reviews
- Guarantee cleaning schedules for all cases
- Ensure merchandising of product aligns with plan-o-grams
- Certify equipment maintenance and communicate issues timely
- Provide weekly feedback to stakeholders for operational adjustments
- Ensure team adherence to The Fresh Market standards and policies
- Ensure department compliance with all safety requirements and food safety protocols
