We are currently looking for an Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our dynamic team and help maintain our high standards of food excellence and operational efficiency.

The Assistant Kitchen Manager plays a critical role in the back of house operations, working closely with the General Manager to ensure that all kitchen activities align with the brand’s food quality standards and operational guidelines. This role requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about food, leadership, and managing a kitchen team. Responsibilities include overseeing the preparation and production of menu items, maintaining food safety standards, managing food costs, and supervising kitchen staff. The Assistant Kitchen Manager will also be responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and evaluating back of house team members to ensure a productive, efficient, and motivated workforce. This position is ideal for an experienced kitchen professional eager to contribute to a growing restaurant brand, by driving operational excellence and helping maintain a positive, open, and safe working environment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in kitchen management or related position
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to lead and train staff effectively
  • Basic computer skills for inventory and scheduling

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in kitchen management or a similar role
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in inventory management and food cost control
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently

Job Duties

  • Manage hourly back of house employees including conducting performance evaluations coaching and discipline
  • Review applications interviewing and hiring back of house employees
  • Direct work for employees including setting hours and weekly schedules and assigning tasks before during and after open hours of the restaurant
  • Doing food orders according to pars
  • Providing directing and scheduling back of house training
  • Supervise and oversee the production and preparation of food in a manner consistent with established recipes and procedures
  • Plating dishes according to Native Grill & Wings plate presentations
  • Conduct formal line taste and temps
  • Enforce appropriate security measures at the restaurant so that the safety of employees and guests are maintained at all times
  • Manage food costs by conducting bi-weekly inventory
  • Understand manage and practice safe food handling procedures
  • Maintain a positive consistent open working environment
