Job Description
Outback Steakhouse is a premier casual dining restaurant renowned for its dedication to quality "serious food" and an exceptional guest experience. As part of the Bloomin' Brands portfolio, Outback Steakhouse has established itself as a leader in the restaurant industry, delivering a memorable dining atmosphere with a unique Aussie flair. The company prides itself on a vibrant work culture that combines the energy of a high-volume kitchen environment with a commitment to professional growth and employee development. Outback Steakhouse values diversity and inclusion, offering equal employment opportunities to all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other protected characteristic by law.
The role of Assistant Kitchen Manager at Outback Steakhouse is a crucial leadership position that supports the back-of-house operations to ensure every dish meets the restaurant's high standards. Working closely under the guidance of the Kitchen Manager, the Assistant Kitchen Manager is responsible for leading the kitchen team by example, fostering a coaching culture that emphasizes quality, efficiency, and consistency. This role is designed for candidates who have a passion for culinary excellence and enjoy managing a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. The Assistant Kitchen Manager is deeply involved in the day-to-day kitchen operations, including coordinating kitchen setups, managing team schedules, overseeing food safety and sanitation protocols, and maintaining precise inventory control.
This position requires a hands-on leader who understands all kitchen stations thoroughly and can train, motivate, and guide the team to deliver exceptional food quickly and safely. The Assistant Kitchen Manager will also ensure compliance with Bloomin' Brands' employee policies and professional standards, uphold strict quality control through checking recipes and food preparation, and manage kitchen timing to guarantee excellent guest cook times. With competitive benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, and 401k retirement options, this role offers a balanced opportunity for both career advancement and personal well-being in a supportive, "Auss-some" workplace environment. Whether you are an experienced Kitchen Manager or an emerging leader in restaurant management seeking to expand your skills, Outback Steakhouse provides an exciting career path with the chance to make a meaningful impact in a fun and dynamic setting.
