The tribe provides a wide array of services covering health, education, finance, social services, natural resources, recreation, courts, and tribal administration. With an employee base of about 300 individuals, the Sho-Pai Tribes offer a community-centered work environment that integrates traditional cultural practices like powwows and local gatherings with opportunities for professional growth and development. The organization is at a pivotal moment of growth, preparing for exciting developments such as the opening of a new casino and other business ventures, which promise to create significant opportunities for professionals who want to contribute meaningfully to the tribe's future success. Employees at Sho-Pai enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including fully paid health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement contributions, generous paid leave options, relocation assistance, and affordable housing availability. This environment encourages a sense of belonging, stability, and long-term career fulfillment.

The Sho-Pai Tribes are seeking a full-time Assistant HR Director / Benefits Coordinator to join their team in Owyhee, Nevada. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Director, this role is crucial for supporting and managing day-to-day HR operations, particularly focusing on recruitment, benefits administration, and overall HR support. The position requires an individual who can proficiently manage full-cycle recruitment efforts from sourcing candidates to coordinating interviews, enabling the organization to attract and retain top talent crucial to its continued growth. Responsibilities extend to administering employee benefits programs, addressing employee inquiries, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records. The Assistant HR Director will also be involved in onboarding new hires, conducting employee orientations, and facilitating various HR projects and initiatives that support organizational goals.

This position offers a hands-on, high-visibility role where the successful candidate will act as a key support figure in the HR department, stepping in for the Human Resources Director as needed. The role involves oversight and administration of compliance processes, including drug testing and employment documentation, and supporting employee relations, training, and engagement efforts to foster a positive and productive workplace culture. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, dependable, and possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, enabling them to balance multiple priorities effectively while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with at least three years of experience, including two or more years in full-cycle recruitment, to contribute to a culturally rich and community-focused organization that values its employees and invests in their success and well-being. The role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $75,000 to $88,000, reflective of skills and experience, along with an attractive benefits package and relocation support to ease the transition into this meaningful and impactful position.
