The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a vital role in the daily execution of the company’s mission to provide first-class service to every customer. This position is responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of the restaurant to ensure seamless, efficient, and customer-focused service delivery. The AGM acts as a critical link between the management team and the staff, facilitating communication, training, and leadership to uphold the company’s standards. With responsibilities spanning from supervising shifts, conducting training sessions, to collaborating with the Food and Beverage team, the AGM ensures that all daily tasks are completed efficiently from opening to closing.
The role requires the AGM to be highly adaptable, capable of managing various shifts within a 7/365 team-oriented environment. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential, alongside the ability to motivate team members effectively. Excellent customer service skills and proficiency in English communication are also prerequisites, enabling the AGM to interact professionally with guests and staff alike. Proficiency in cash handling, reporting, and basic computer literacy, particularly with MS Office, are advantageous skills for success in this position.
Additionally, the AGM is expected to comply with relevant federal and departmental requirements, including passing background checks and certifications such as ServSafe. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment preferred
- Two to five years prior supervisory experience in a food and beverage operation
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with team members, managers, and guests
- Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and a point of sale system
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
